Another Question I Get Often

Should I include a cover letter or a query letter with my manuscript?
A query letter is what you need to send to find out if there is interest in your project. Most publishers require a query for a non-fiction project. Your query should present your project succinctly. You will also want to include a brief description of your publishing experience if you have any. And if you don’t, don’t bring that to their attention.
A cover letter is what you include with your manuscript when submitting. Your cover letter should not be longer than a page. Writers have different opinions about what should be on a cover letter. Some want to go into detail about the project and give a detailed bio and their writing history. Where others give just the basic information and let the manuscript speak for it self.
