You may have heard of crowd funding, well this is crowd marketing. Crowd marketing uses the same principles. Select a few friends and family who are your biggest fans and ask them to send an e-mail, which you have written for them, to five or more of their family and friends. At the end of the e-mail have your sales link and an invitation to send the e-mail to their friends and family who might be interested in the book.
Here are the components of the e-mail:
- Short introduction
- Description of the book
- Author Bio
- Buy Link
- Invitation to forward to anyone they want
It’s that simple. You don’t want to make this e-mail long, if you do then you run the risk of the recipient not reading it. Keep it brief and see where it leads.
If you feel you’re getting results from this marketing approach then I suggest adding this to your monthly marketing tool box. Each month you can ask a different five friends to send the e-mail. If you have a solid fan base you may want to invite them to send the e-mail as well.
There are a lot of possibilities with this form of marketing but you don’t want to turn your e-mail into spam. That is why I suggest having only a few people sending out the e-mail for you.
Book marketing is a lot of fun. You just need to find what’s right for you and your book.
